Kelly joined Acton Animal Hospital in July 2024 after moving back to her hometown of Aledo from Houston. Her passion for science and animals began early, rescuing animals during family travels. Inspired by her first dog, Caybey, who suffered from heartworm disease, Kelly advocates for heartworm education and prevention.
Kelly enjoys building relationships with clients and their pets, and she thrives on the ever-changing veterinary field. Raised in Ankara, Turkey, she traveled throughout Europe with her family before returning to Texas. Kelly graduated from Aledo High School, completed the CVA program at Weatherford Community College, and began her veterinary career in 2010. She and her husband, Nate, have been married for ten years, living in various places before settling in the DFW area.
At home, Kelly and Nate have two border collies, Jaxson and Astro, and a sassy black long-haired cat named Luna. Kelly's hobbies include gardening, cooking, crafting, and traveling. She proudly grew a retama tree from a seed pod, now over six feet tall. Kelly and Nate love visiting beach destinations like the Bahamas and Playa del Carmen, Mexico. With extensive experience in avian and exotic animal care, Kelly especially enjoyed working with macaws during her time as a technician in Houston.
