Katie, a Veterinary Technician Assistant at Acton Animal Hospital, embarked on her journey in animal care during high school, where she discovered her passion through FFA and veterinary practicum courses. Hailing from Granbury, Texas, Katie's upbringing surrounded by animals and her experiences as a wrangler solidified her desire to pursue veterinary medicine.
Inspired by the profound bond between horses and children with intellectual disabilities during a riding camp, Katie developed a keen interest in equine-assisted therapy, recognizing the transformative power of animal companionship. A graduate of Texas Tech University with a degree in Animal Science and a minor in chemistry, Katie is a third-generation alumna, embodying a commitment to excellence in her field.
In her downtime, Katie enjoys outdoor activities like jet skiing, fishing, and kayaking on the lake, as well as snowboarding in the winter. At home, she shares her life with Millie, an adventurous and mischievous cat who brings joy and occasional chaos into Katie's life. With her compassionate nature and dedication to learning, Katie strives to make a meaningful impact on both animal and human lives through her work at Acton Animal Hospital.
